About Sherryl Christie-Bierschenk
For the first 15 years of her career Sherryl was a therapist for a wide range of clientele; couples in crisis, sexually abused children, delinquent teens and the “worried well.” In the late 1980's she transitioned into the corporate world to provide coaching, consulting and training services for mostly Fortune 100 companies in the U.S. and Canada. She currently works with leaders in organizations-- coaching individuals and their teams, designing leadership development processes and facilitating strategy-focused retreats.
Sherryl and 3 partners founded her company over 20 years ago. Since that time the name, focus, size and ownership structure have all changed, but her focus on helping people truly experience and maintain vibrant and fulfilling lives has remained constant.

Why the Curse of the Competent Woman™
At 40 years of age, on the heels of the death of a close friend for whom she had provided brief hospice care, Sherryl was recovering from a short bout with cancer and facing the unmistakable reality of a second failed marriage. It was at this time that she began exploring the depths of the price she has paid for her “competence.” Although the phrase, "the Curse of the Competent Woman," had been languishing in her mind for over a decade, it wasn't until this convergence of difficult events that she put finger to keyboard to begin a book by the same title {currently a work in progress}.
Education, etc.
Sherryl holds a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, a Coaching Certification from the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, and was a Certified Quality Engineer through the American Society of Quality Control. She lives with her husband, dogs, and chickens on Whidbey Island in Washington State. She is a mother and a grandmother and has yet to complete the remaining hours for her private pilot's license… (sigh)
